Critical behavior of density of states near Fermi energy in low-dimensional disordered metals

چکیده
We study the effect of electron-electron interaction on the one-particle density of states DOS d ,T of low-dimensional disordered metals near Fermi energy within the framework of the finite temperature conventional impurity diagram technique. We consider only diffusive limit and, by a geometric resummation of the most singular first-order self-energy corrections via the Dyson equation, we obtain a nondivergent solution for the DOS at low energies while for higher energies the well-known Altshuler-Aronov corrections are recovered. At the Fermi level d ,T=0 →0, this indicates that interacting disordered two-dimensional and quasi-onedimensional systems are in insulating state at zero temperature. The obtained results are in good agreement with recent tunneling experiments on two-dimensional GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures and quasi-onedimensional doped multiwall carbon nanotubes.

Superfluid-insulator transition of two-dimensional disordered Bose gases
We study the two-dimensional weakly repulsive Bose gas at zero temperature in the presence of correlated disorder. Using large-scale simulations, we show that the low-energy Bogoliubov cumulative density of states remains quadratic up to a critical disorder strength, beyond which a power law with disorder-dependent exponent β < 2 sets in. We associate this threshold behavior with the transition...

Using mean-field and semi-classical approximation of Thomas-Fermi, within a statistical model, equation of state and critical properties of symmetric nuclear matter is studied. In this model, two body and phenomenological interaction of Myers and Swiatecki is used in phase space. By performing a functional variation of the total Helmholtz free energy of system with respect to the nucleonic di...

We consider the two-dimensional t-t ′ Hubbard model with the Fermi level being close to the Van-Hove singularities. The phase diagram of the model is discussed. Far from the quantum phase transition (QPT) into ferro-(antiferro-) magnetic state, the self-energy at the singularity points has a nearly-linear energy dependence, the density of states being proportional to ln 3 |ε|. In the quantum-di...
